Delete your VolleyGo account
Last updated: July 9, 2026
You can permanently delete your VolleyGo account and the personal data
tied to it at any time. This page describes how to make the request, what
we delete, what we keep (and why), and how long it takes.
How to request deletion
- Email us. Send a message from the email address on
your account to
admin@volleygo.app
with the subject line "Delete my account". We'll acknowledge within 3
business days.
- From inside the app (coming soon). A Delete Account
button will live in your profile settings. Until it ships, use email โ
it's the same underlying process.
What we delete
- Your sign-in credentials (Firebase Authentication record).
- Your profile details โ display name, avatar, position and skill
preferences.
- Your contact information (email address, and phone number if you
provided one).
- Cached location data used to show nearby games.
- Push notification tokens registered to your account.
- RSVPs and reservations for future events you hadn't yet attended.
What we keep, and why
- Past event participation. RSVP records tied to
events that already happened stay in those events' history so hosts
and other attendees can still see who was there. Where feasible, your
name is replaced with "deleted user" and your profile photo is
removed.
- Aggregated or de-identified usage metrics. Once
stripped of anything that can identify you, these may remain in our
analytics for product-quality purposes.
- Records we're legally required to keep. Certain
financial, safety, or moderation records may need to be retained for
the minimum period required by law. We store only what we must, and
only for as long as we must.
How long it takes
We aim to confirm your request within 3 business days and to delete or
de-identify your personal data within 30 days of confirmation. Standard
backups can carry a copy of the data for up to 90 additional days before
rolling over โ after that, no restorable copy remains.
